On 3 October, Flavours of Dobrogea travelled to Craiova for Treasures of the East, bringing together the flavours, traditions and stories of Dobrogea in a celebration of the region’s rich gastronomic heritage.
At the Flavours of Dobrogea stand, visitors had the opportunity to discover a small but diverse map of the region through the work of local producers and artisans. Crama Hamangia, Domeniile Mitroi, Deltaica, Dobrodulce, Hercinia Brewery, TU – Produse Lactate, La Mirela în Ogradă – Punct Gastronomic Local, Mierea Milena, Migdale de Jurilovca, Rozefir, Suvenir din Dobrogea / Souvenir from Dobrogea, Techir and VAST CRAFT Atelier came together to showcase the variety of products and stories that make Dobrogea so distinctive.
The presence of these producers extended beyond the exhibition stand. Several of them took part directly in the professional programme of the event. Hercinia Brewery joined the craft beer competition Introducere în Lumea Berii, while TU – Produse Lactate participated both in the competition and in the Into Cheese workshop dedicated to cheeses. Crama Hamangia and Domeniile Mitroi represented Dobrogea in the Wines of the East wine competition.
For visitors, the event offered more than an opportunity to taste. It was a chance to discover the people and places behind the products, to learn more about Dobrogea and to see how its culinary identity continues to grow through the work of local producers.
Throughout the day, the Flavours of Dobrogea stand attracted visitors interested in the region and its gastronomy, with many stopping to discover the products, recognise local names and learn more about the stories behind them. The curiosity and enthusiasm of those who came by showed just how much interest there is in discovering the authentic flavours and cultural richness of Dobrogea.
Treasures of the East brought together wine, gastronomy and tourism from across South-Eastern Europe, creating a space where producers, professionals and visitors could meet around the region’s diverse culinary heritage. For Flavours of Dobrogea, it was another opportunity to place Dobrogea on that wider map and to give visibility to the producers who are carrying its flavours and traditions forward.
We are grateful to Treasures of the East for creating this space for connection and discovery, and to everyone who stopped by to taste, ask questions and discover more about Dobrogea.
A special thank you also goes to Cosmin Dragomir, one of our ambassadors, for being there with us and supporting the visibility of Dobrogea and its local producers.
From wine and cheese to craft beer, honey, almonds, traditional products and much more, every producer brought a different piece of the region to Craiova.
Together, they offered visitors a taste of Dobrogea and, perhaps, a reason to discover the region beyond the table.
