Dobrogea wins at the World Food Gift Challenge 2025
The World Food Gift Challenge, organized by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT), is an international competition that highlights outstanding artisanal food and food-related craft products from regions awarded or affiliated with the European and World Regions of Gastronomy. The event supports small and medium-sized local producers by giving visibility to authentic, high-quality, sustainable products that express the identity and cultural richness of their territory.
On May 9th, 2025, in Sicily – European Region of Gastronomy 2025, Dobrogea proudly joined the competition through four representative producers, bringing forward the voices and values of the region. This was a strategic step in positioning Dobrogea on the map of European gastronomic regions, aligning with global trends in responsible, story-driven food and craft gifting.
From raw-cured meats, wildflower honey and mineral-rich skincare to boutique wines rooted in Dobrogea’s ancient soils, each gift presented reflected the region’s multicultural heritage, biodiversity, and artisan traditions. The four participating producers were: Moș Iosif, Techir, Crama Darie, and Dobrodulce. We are proud to share that Moș Iosif was awarded the “Best Tasting” award, a recognition of exceptional quality and authenticity.
